  • July 17 to 21 – Conventual Sweets Fair. Lagoa will be hosting its popular sweets fair ‘Mostra do Doce Conventual’. There will be a variety of mouth-watering traditional sweets, jams, honey, liqueurs and Monchique’s famous Medronho, live music, and an exhibition entitled ‘Arte Doce’ by Lagoa cake designer Ana Remígio.   • July 17 to 21 – Silves Beer Fest. With around 50 craft beers, street food, showcooking, regional gastronomy, arts & crafts and concerts. Praça Al-Muthamid, 6pm to 2am. Free admission
  • July 19 to 21 – Portimão Wine Tasting. Visitors have the opportunity to taste the wines that are made by local wineries in a stunning setting with a view of the famous Praia da Rocha beach. Praia da Rocha, Fortaleza de Santa Catarina, 7pm to 11.30pm. Free entry
  • July 20 – Neon Run. Portimão riverfront/Marina, 8.30pm to 11.30pm. www.neonrun.pt

  • Until August 1 – Sunset Secrets at Silves Castle with concerts, delicious food and drink, dance performances, free relaxing massages (7pm) and gastronomic demonstrations (8.30pm). The event takes place every Thursday from 5pm to 11pm. Tickets €5 (general public) and €2 for Silves residents, free admission for children under 10
